Today, November 5, 2008, we drove some 2 hours south of Tirana to a little four room school in the village of Radostin-Vadhiz. Elder and Sister Robert Morton, the two humanitarian missionaries serving in Albania learned about this little school while working in the village this past month. The school had very poor tables, chairs and closets for the children. There were broken windows, no heating and the teachers lacked the basic supplies for teaching. The Mortons contacted the Church and it was decided that help would  be given. So today we helped deliver some school supplies and equipment. Above is a picture of the school, and yes, that is one of those old pill-boxes at the corner of the school property.

They gave the flowers to mom. Mrs. Prifti had tears in her eyes the entire time we were at the school, she was so pleased with the gifts.

Some of the items brought by the Church for the school included heaters for the classrooms, CD players for each classroom, globes of the world, maps, anatomy charts and even some play yard balls. Behind mom is one of the newly built closets. Also all the broken windows at the school will be replaced and this Saturday the teachers will be taken into town and allowed to buy supplies that each specifically needs for her classroom.


Saying good-bye to our new friends at Radostin-Vadhiz. There may be times when you wonder if you have done any good in the world today. On a mission you don't have to worry about that. Today was a day for a small miracle in a small school in a tiny village in Albania.
